Harambee Day 2014
Tuesday, December 9th at 19 in Via Dante 14, Milan we will celebrate the "Harambee day" of the Brownsea Foundation and IKSDP Harambee-Kenya. An opportunity to share the experience of volunteers last summer: a photographic exhibition showing the history of project and future goals ... to get to know and have information about the possibility of starting with us!

On August 14, we celebrated the ART DAY at the Nyandiwa stadium to promote the artistic production of the IKSDP Creative Centre. The event was dedicated to the 103rd birthday of "nonna Anna", sponsor of the Creative Centre. This initiative is very successful, indeed an increasing number of people is willing to take part into the project.

Award Ceremony of Graphic Arts contest
Nyandiwa August 3rd 2014: The contest was sponsored by Fondazione Brownsea, Fondazione Domenico Chiesa and Panathlon International. The 10 winning works will also be exhibited in Italy in autumn.

IKSDP-Kitawa Sunflower project. May: the first sunflowers in bloom in our garden in Kitawa. Greetings to Ndungu Kahihu former National Commissioner of the Kenya Scouts Association and a great friend of IKSDP-Harambee Project.
June: Our wonderful sunflowers in Kitawa ready for the harvest.
July: The sunflowers cultivation in Kitawa has yielded 570 kg of seeds, which have been used to produce 125 litres of oil.

IKSDP-Gwassi aqueduct maintenance
20-kilometer of the aqueduct that delivers drinking water from the Forest Gwassi to the Nyandiwa plain , are currently in maintenance.
The project is a collaborative effort between IKSDP-Harambee Project and the Government of Homa Bay County. The aqueduct has been built by IKSDP 24 years ago and right now is serving more than thirty thousand people.

IKSDP-Nyandiwa Teachers Training College won another trophy to the Kenya's National Student Theatre Festival that took place in early April 2014. Congratulations!
Each year, an appointment that is repeated and a new great victory for the commitment and professionalism of our students and our teachers.

On March 28, was held at the IKSDP Centre-Nyandiwa the GRADUATION CEREMONY for the students of our College. The ceremony was particularly significant because the delivery of certificates regarded students who have enabled the College to rank second among all colleges in Kenya in 2013. CONGRATULATIONS!

Kitawa IKSDP sunflower projectIKSDP sunflower project
In the IKSDP Kitawa land is currently setting up a demonstration cultivation of sunflower plants with the aim of producing edible oil in partnership with the Kenyan society 'Wefi' that is already operating in the sector.
the plants grow very luxuriantly sunflowers.
Next month will open the first flowers!

Nyandiwa's Market: IKSDP volunteers expose wedding dresses donated by Calabria for Harambee. These dresses can be rented by brides from Nyandiwa for the benefit of the project "IKSDP-Harambee".

In Nyandiwa was opened the Art Gallery which exhibits and sells the products of IKSDP-Creative Centre, arousing much curiosity and consensus among the community.
After this event,The demand to join the Creative Centre has been increasing after this event. Currently the group is made up mainly of women, but it is open to everyone. The main goal is to bring out and enhance the artistic talents present among members of the community, that are many!

IKSDP TTC RANKED SECONDIKSDP Collge ranked second nationally
Our IKSDP College ranked SECOND PLACE (over 104 institutions) in the annual list compiled by the Ministry of Education of Kenya. An amazing achievement when you consider the limited resources we have, compared to other institutions, most popular and sponsored. We congratulate lots of our candidates who have been ranked nationally from top 100 - 1000. We salute the whole community this being a collective responsibility and above all the teaching fraternity and other staff members as well.

IKSPD CMC IKSDP Community Media Centre
On Saturday 8th February 2014: born IKSDP Community Media Centre, a training project between IKSDP-Harambee Project, Rongo University (Kenya) and Brighton University (UK), which aims to develop the opportunities offered by the Internet in schools and in the community . The two universities will work together coordinated by Dr. Jerry Agalo (Rongo University); in the photo the Prof. Peter Day (Brighton University, UK) visiting the Laboratory of Computer Training Center IKSDP.
